As the leaders of the National Security Agency’s Global Enterprise Cybersecurity Operations Mission, we have the privilege of leading talented cyber professionals that are working hard to combat the escalating cyber threat targeting our nation. During this year’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, it is important that we are all aware of the increasing cyber threats the world faces and do our part to defend against them. Highly disruptive cyberattacks are increasing in frequency and the level of expertise needed to launch such attacks has decreased dramatically. Therefore, it is critical that cyber defense become a priority for everyone.>>There are actually five simple actions everyone should follow. Number One: Don’t click on unknown links or attachments Number Two: Update security patches as soon as they are available Number Three: Use strong passwords Number Four: Use two-factor authentication when possible And Number Five: Backup your systems on a regular basis These are all easy ways that each and every one of us can help to keep the U.S. a more cyber-secure nation.
